Firm Philosophy

Investor Protection is Our Core Mission

90 percent of investor protection happens before you invest.  Proper due diligence is the best way to ensure that investments are wise, counterparties are solvent, and disclosures are accurate.  However, corporations and issuers sometimes mislead investors, and litigation becomes necessary.

We strive to protect investors of all sizes at all stages of litigation.  From the largest institution to the smallest individual, we treat all investors with the same care and attention.  To remain free of conflicts, we do not represent underwriting banks, auditors, or individuals who serve on boards of directors of large public companies.

We not only seek to protect purchasers of securities, but also investors who choose to stay invested and change corporate behavior.  More than 60% of the Fortune 500 is incorporated under Delaware law, and our home base in Delaware allows us to hold corporate management to account when necessary.  Likewise, the vast majority of onshore hedge funds are organized under Delaware law, making Delaware the best (and at times, only) jurisdiction for investors to protect their investments in alternative investment vehicles.

International in Focus

We strive to be an efficient gateway to the Delaware and New York courts for international investors. We understand that international investors are increasingly willing to assert their rights in U.S. courts at a time when U.S. courts may be making it harder to do so, and we are able to navigate this complex and rapidly changing area of law.

The Delaware Way

Our firm philosophy also includes a sincere commitment to the informal standards known locally as the “Delaware Way.”  We strive to vigorously advocate on behalf of our clients while maintaining the highest degree of professionalism toward our colleagues in the Delaware bar and the legal profession.  We believe this commitment allows us to better serve our clients’ interests and to resolve matters in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.

Client-Driven

We strive to meet the unique needs of each client to the best of our abilities.   This not only includes zealous protection of our clients’ interests, but also includes a willingness and ability to enter into alternative billing arrangements to suit the individual circumstances of each case or client.  To the extent appropriate, we prefer pure contingent fee agreements, as they effectively align the interests of the firm and the client.  But we can also arrange CFAs, traditional hourly fees, success fees, third-party litigation funding, litigation insurance (“ATE” insurance), sliding scale agreements, and other hybrid models as needed.

Strictly Non-Partisan

Sianni & Straite LLP is strictly non-partisan.  Neither the firm nor any employee, partner or attorney otherwise associated with the firm is permitted to donate money or time to the political campaign of any person with decision-making authority at any client, nor to the political campaign of any judge before whom we practice.
